Our 3-year-old adores these books. She loves all the different characters and vibrant colours. The storyline is very cute, and the illustrations are beautiful. She never tires of reading these stories with mom and dad or just flipping through the pages on her own. We look forward to reading more Mira adventures in the future!

I wear many hats but one that is most important to me, is my grandparent hat.
Two of my grandkids have ADHD and it breaks my heart to see how they struggle with communication, making friends, emotions and their overwhelm with the expectations and the processing of information their bodies and brains struggle with in our noisy and demanding world.
They both love stories, so what a joy and treasure we found when we discovered the Wonderfully Made series. Both kids immediately related to the stories. The oldest, who is 12 years old, reads and thinks about it and sometimes remarks on how it helps her
understand things that didn't make sense.
The youngest, who is 4, will go and pick one of the books for us to read to him after school, and it is so telling of how he experienced his day. We found the breathing exercise, or the peaceful pause, simple and easy for them to follow. I love the emphasis that they are beautifully and wonderfully made, and that it continues to remind them that regardless of people's perspective of them and their struggles, that they are special and loved.
Thank you Mel.

I love the message of reminding students/children/ourselves that we are WONDERFULLY MADE and that each of us is unique and amazing.

My daughter and I really enjoyed reading Mira and the Tree of Colours because we could both relate to the myriads of emotions throughout the day. Talking to my daughter who is both profoundly dyslexic and has ADHD about her feelings is a keyway to help us both connect, and for her to know she's not alone in her head. She recognized right away how she could make sense of Mira's friends and how they all felt differently. She really enjoyed talking with me about how to cope differently depending on how each of them felt and we made little connections to real-life too. This is a great book for continuing conversation between parents and their children to help them recognize that their big feelings are okay and that they can have self-control through knowing themselves and recognizing which "tool" (or copying strategy) they're going to use in that moment. The book doesn't create an answer, but a springboard of ideas for helping to promote connection, conversation, and growth in our family's relationship with one another. Having common ground when emotions are HIGH is a huge piece to staying connected when we get scared of one another’s feelings. Thank you Melinda for putting such a fun and meaningful spin into the insides of an ADHD brain!

In my work as an ADHD coach, I regularly support children who feel misunderstood or ‘too much.’ The Wonderfully Made World series offers a powerful strengths-based alternative to deficit-focused narratives. Through story and metaphor, these books support emotional literacy, regulation, and positive identity development in a way that children genuinely connect with. I confidently recommend them to families, educators, and wellbeing professionals.

I adore Mel Phillips' Wonderfully Made World! The stories from the Wonderfully Made World are such a joyful celebration of neurodiversity and offer children (and adults!) practical tools to embrace their unique ways of experiencing the world. Making and keeping friends can be difficult for neurodivergent children the forest friends in the Wonderfully Made World speak to both neurodivergent and neurotypical kids about the importance of friendship and the beauty of our differences.

Melinda recently worked across our school community, and her impact was both immediate and lasting. She has a unique ability to connect meaningfully with students, families and staff, using story in a way that is engaging, authentic and deeply educational.
During her visit, Melinda delivered a beautiful Storytime session with our primary students, capturing their imagination while gently building understanding around emotions, identity and neurodiversity. With our secondary students, particularly those who are
neurodiverse, she created a safe and empowering space speaking from both personal and professional experience in a way that was relatable, insightful and affirming.
Melinda also facilitated a parent session, which was incredibly well received. Parents valued her honesty, practical tools, and the way she brought clarity and hope to topics that can often feel overwhelming. Her
ability to communicate complex ideas with warmth, professionalism and real-life experience is a strength that truly sets her apart.
Beyond her formal sessions, Melinda continued to invest in our community.
At our recent school fete, she generously returned to support the event, engaging with families, connecting with students, and continuing conversations around ADHD and wellbeing in a very natural and accessible way. Melinda brings a rare combination of professionalism, lived experience, and genuine care. I would highly recommend her to any school, across all age groups, looking to support their students, staff and families in a meaningful and impactful way.

As an ADHD Coach (ADDCA trained) and educator, I am incredibly discerning about the resources and people I recommend, and Mel Phillips and Wonderfully Made World stand out as truly exceptional.
Melinda brings a rare and powerful combination of lived experience, professional insight, and deep compassion to her work. Through her story-based approach, she communicates the realities of ADHD in a way that is both accessible and deeply meaningful for children, families, and educators. Her ability to translate complex emotional and neurological experiences into engaging, relatable stories is what truly sets her apart.
She creates a safe, affirming space where individuals feel seen, understood, and empowered. Her work helps to gently dismantle shame and stigma, replacing it with language of identity, strength, and possibility. The Wonderfully Made World resources are not only beautifully written, but also highly practical.
They provide educators and parents with tools they can immediately use to support emotional regulation, self-understanding, and positive identity development in
children.
Melinda’s professionalism, authenticity, and heart for people are evident in everything she does. I would highly recommend her to schools, organisations, and families seeking a meaningful, evidence-informed and compassionate approach to ADHD and emotional wellbeing.
